im trying to get my new pellet stove installed. I have a double flue block chimney with a rock faced hearth in the living room. the hearth has a 6" stove pipe hole in it and I would like to vent my pellet stove into this vent. I am having a hard time finding an adapter to go from the 3" lined pellet stove pipe to the 6" hole in my chimney. It is roughly 15ft from the vent to the top of the chimney. I do currently have a woodstove in the basement hooked up to the same flue but I can easily change the woodstove to the other flue in I need to. Any suggestions on and adapter would be greatly appreciated I have already spent a lot on adapters that appeared like they wood work I am real handy with a welder so I was thinking of making what I need.. I also saw a few things on the internet that said I shouldn't vent my pellet stove into my block chimney that is clay lined.

If you want your pellet stove to operate properly, you need to line that chimney all the way up with a 3" or 4" vent (see pellet stove manual for suggested size based on length and turns).

You will likely have problems venting it into the cold chimney which is oversized.
