Is there an upgrade to the control board for 2006 Mt Vernon AE

Hello,
We have a 2006 Mt Vernon AE with an ongoing "Auger Jam" error message. We have thoroughly cleaned, replaced auger motor, auger optical sensor switch and the vacuum switch. Our local Wood Heat can't come out for a month and things are getting pretty cold. Should we try and replace the control board? Has there been an upgrade since 2006? If we did buy a new one, are they easy to install? My husband is pretty handy and has maintained our Mt Vernon and castile insert for 17 years.

Can you tell if the auger screw is turning when the stove starts? In a quiet environment you should be able to hear it working (along with the sound of pellets getting pushed around.)
