Is this crack bad ?

Englander 25PVDC. 10 years old. Baffle plate is warped. Burn plate is burnt up a bit too. Burning dirty. Not getting hot. Lots of soot.

I see what I think you mean by crack, but the picture is so close I'm not sure where it's at in relation to the fire pit where air is drawn through the pellets.

Last few years my burn pit on my old Vermont Castings Reliance was cracked, it was allowing some air to be drawn through cracks not where pellets were, but beside them. Every cfm drawn through the crack was one less cfm pulled through the pellet pile trying to burn. Combustion wasn't great, so last year I found a new one and it burns nicely ever since.
