Been reading on this forum for a little while now. First post/question.

1) I have a new Jotul f400 installed by me. Rear vent to an existing thimble in hearth in basement. Three story chimney. Has run beautifully with break in fires. The manual states 16" front hearth clearance USA, and 18" Canada. Some things I read show 18" in USA as well. I installed at 16" from front door per manual. Is this OK?

Yes 16" in front of the stove glass in the US.
