The Enviro Maxx that I put a deposit on should be arriving in a few weeks. Its going into a large-ish (22' x 28') soon-to-be finished basement (that currently has no heat) where I'm also going to be putting in a flat screen TV. If my wife has her way, the TV and stove will be somewhat close to each other (maybe 10' - 12'). My plan is to run the stove on a higher setting when we're all upstairs, then to kick it back to its lowest setting when we're using the basement.

Will the stove be too loud?

You should be fine. I find that I have no problem at all hearing the tv in my house, though you may have to turn it up just an extra notch or 2.
