Into my 5th day burning.Don't get me wrong, not a fanboy yet. Still some things I don't like vs my Afton Bay but more good than bad. Likes: More heat and more even. Lucky I have what could almost be called a shotgun house. You can see the back door when you walk in the front. Today it is 30. Dining room where the stove is located is 72. Living room is 72 and Kitchen is 72. All three bedrooms are 70. I messed with the room probe and you can now see it hanging temporarily just inside the living room on an interior no draft area. Just did not work in the dining room where the stove is and I tried just over the wall into the kitchen and it too was inconsistent. In comparing the two to be fair the Afton Bay was on the wall and pointed at the other wall. The corner install allows heat to be directed more towards the living area and the radiated heat keeps the kitchen warm. Found out quickly the fan needs to be on high at all times to keep things even. Cleaning: What a joke. I see not one black spot inside the stove. Just pink from clean burning. Pellet use: Not sure about that yet but seems to be about the same. Dislikes: I tried turning off the igniter after it lit to see what the idling was all about. Worthless: No fan = waste of pellets+hot room the stove is in and the rest of the house is cold. I swear while it was idling the exhaust was hotter than when it is running. The pellet hopper is too narrow and hard to dump a bag in without getting pellets everywhere.(for me anyway an old wimp)Obviously the big plus with the Harman is the regulation of the exhaust temp. That keeps it burning clean-way cleaner than the Afton Bay.
Just a side note: 4" Duravent is chit. It leaks in every seam possible. I am still trying to get it sealed after almost 5 days. If you think I am nuts take a look at the 4 to 3 adapter they give you for the back of the stove. The outside of the pipe that goes onto the stove is actually the outer jacket and the interior pipe goes inside the stove outlet. That directs smoke directly into the outer jacket. Now I am down to a faint whiff of smoke on startup and can not find it. Sooner or later I will.
