I posted this in the classic forum, but have received no feedback, so I thought I would try it here as well.
I have the opportunity to buy an old M-520 Lopi, completely pre-EPA. It has draft control slider handles above and below the door that open/close holes to allow air to enter the stove. It has an 8†flue, and the firebox is definitely deeper than a Liberty. The width looks the same, but I have not measured a Liberty. The door opening looks the same as well (also not measured on a Liberty). There are other threads regarding this stove, if you are interested in reading.
Does anyone know/think that the Liberty baffle/bypass, and air system will retrofit and install in a 520? I asked the local dealer, he said he would do some research, but didn’t think some of it would be very easy, the air system in particular.
This stove will go in the camp or the garage, it won't see regular usage.
Ideas on retrofitting the 520? Recommendations? Educated guesses? Random thoughts? Please contribute...
Thanks,
Scott
