First off I'd like to thank those who replied to my previous threads I posted while trying to decide what stove would suit me best. One thread was an Oslo vs. Castine thread while the other was an Oslo vs. Hearthstone Heritage. All answers were very helpful and today I ordered up a Blue/Black Oslo. I feel I paid a fair price for the stove @ $2,199 +tax. The hearth pad, thimble, piping, and installation will be extra of course.
Now the debate is how to vent the stove. My wife really wants to rear/horizontal exit so as not to see any vertical stove pipe in the house. I want vertical for the obvious beneficial reasons of draft, future stove alignment, and extra heat from pipe. She is willing to go with an 18"-24" vertical run then the 90 through the wall but I think it may look more silly with a short vertical run as opposed to a 36"-48" run. any thoughts?
