Where it gets cold
Hi,
Getting close to firing up the stove...... I picked up a
magnetic thermometer...... Where should I place it....
and what would be the max temperature for the stove....

Thanks, Soup

Put it toward the back about 6" in front of the flue exit. A thermometer measuring the flue temp is also very helpful.

Will Do!

The Flue temp....... where would placement be.....
I will have a damper maybe like 20 inches up from the 90 that will be on the flue collar(rear exit setup)

A few inches above the damper. Is this single or double wall stove pipe?

Thanks!...

I will get one above the damper as well..... yeah, single wall pipe......(good that you asked..)

And I was going to put in double.... just couldn't(accessibility and cost--- made shielding instead)

So we seem to run the F118 at about 400F....(when we can get it up there -- that is the goal)

... what are we seeking to achieve (////how to/// accomplish) with use the damper

with respect to the upper thermometer on stove pipe's temp..

****I am thinking))) Damper's use is to reduce temp above damper????
and to what percentage Would be my question...

(if this is something that one can manage with a damper??? IE:Dampening)

Thanks, Soup
