[/ATTACH] rack1a.JPG rack1b.JPG Was running close to being out of room for wood. So we was setting out buy our fire pit and the guy next to us was setting in his wheel chair watching us through the fence. She said we need to put up a fence and I told her that chain link fence is not on us. So I said how about letting me put up a few racks with fire wood . She said build ONE and then let me look at it. I got the ok to build 2 more 16 feet long for a total of 48 foot at 4 foot wide - 6 foot tall. For a total of 9 more cord plus the 15 cord in the front. Just about everything in the rack is oak, hard maple and cherry. Most has been in the open for 1-2 years except the cherry on the top right side. Had it , cherry, brought to me cut to size and droped off in my cutting area.

If I read his post correctly, they built the "fence" because of nosey neighbors :)

He is ok for a neighbor but we can't go out and enjoy the back yard because of the housing people on that side. He even made a coment one day I was hauling wood and filling it , that he was going to poke some back so he can have a hole to see threw.

Oooops. I'm sober too, havent had a drop yet. But that'll probably change soon.....;lol I guess the old saying is true - 'Good fences DO make good neighbors.'

I had a good fence along my east property line in Aug 2009,but that didnt keep the lowlife POS behind me from stealing $10 worth for his firepit. It was discovered when I noticed some still smoldering one Sat morning when his deadbeat ass was still inside sleeping off the night before.

We had the same thing happen before so I fixed a couple of rounds with some stuff that goes boom when lit. Call and told the city cop what I done and in about 5 min he was back behind me telling this person not to get any more wood as a couple are loaded. Never had another drop stolen. Can't stand a theif, ask and I will give you some.

They got my 'message' alright.::-) Parents were visiting me that morning, were in backyard not far from the fence.Seen me jump neighbor's fence to the north then jump it again south a few feet east to get in the thief's yard behind me.I run up the steps, pounded on the screen door & damn near tore it off the hinges, apparantly others heard me screaming 2 blocks over;em .....Something about "Get out here you effing thief or I'll drag your ass through the window! .Long story short - his GF appeared, was all shook up,told her I'm calling the cops blah blah.

She literally begged me not to call them....But I tossed my phone to Dad "CALL THEM NOW!!" And he did. ;lol After they arrived, they received a lecture & I promised that I wouldnt do anything else like beat his ass or something ;).It was put on record,if 1 yr passed & they 'misbehaved' again, they would be an 'official' complaint filed.Apparantly the deadbeat & his GF moved to Washington in spring 2010,they're someone else's problem now :p

I would hate to be confined to a WC, but I also can understand you wanting your privacy. Time to plant a hedge.
I had my home built on the backside of a hill in a wooded area. The road was extended just to access my home. Plenty of privacy here. image.jpg

Those are the kind of racks I built, I just havent put the tops on yet, I was thinking of angling them a bit and leaving an overhang of about a foot in front and back.

Looks good, I'd love to see the shopping list you had to build those, I want to make a few myself. I actually found a 6 x 4 foot pallet a few months back I am saving to do this.
