i am redoing my mantel that is above my stove. Was wondering if there were any thoughts on what type of polyurethane or lacquer might hold up to the heat best over time. I am going to put a heat shield up as well. Any thoughts would be appreciated.
If you are following the proper clearances AND using a heat shield, I doubt that it will make much difference. Go with whatever finish is to your liking.
