A local dealer is selling Michigan hardwood pellets and Lakes Region softwood. Any opinions on either one, or softwood vs hardwood.

Never burned either, but from experience I would buy the softwood.

Lakes region pellets burn HOT, but leave a clinker the size of the burn pot after just one bag. If you try to burn another 40 lbs the pellets go over the top.
