Went back in and filled some low spots on the trail with bark from splitting then went searching for some blow down, found some sugar maple,cherry and ironwood.

Picture 100_1422 & 1423 are the cherry, 100_1424 & 1425 is some small sugar maple and 100_1427 & 1428-1 are the ironwood.

I got a question..............when it's old wood that's been laying on the trail, and it has moss on it........what'dya do with the moss? I don't think you'd burn it, would you?

If it has moss the bark comes off in the woods or before burning.

How many acres to have zap? You are always finding something down. I am getting closer to getting most of my down stuff cut up. It will probably take me another year since I cannot do much in the winter around here due to the extreme hills. I know you do not like to cut standing trees, I may have to cut some big ones around the house since I want to build a pole barn and I figure better to get them before they get me. It is ashame though because they are big and beautiful. Although the leaves will be a pain in a couple of weeks.

Your hard woods sure are nicer than my mostly soft woods! With the poplar and birch that I have by time it hits the ground its too rotted to do anything with.
