exactly, and that is basically only on 30 of the 50 acres!

That equates to 8300/MBF per acre !!!!!!!!!! Your going to have a sheet load of tops for fire wood.

Cherry is a shade intolerant species (requires 90% + sunlight) hopefully when you open it up cherry will take off and grow vigorously especially with all the nutrients those tops and branches will return to the soil. Don't be discouraged if you have what looks like a mess because that is a lot of footage per acre. You'll have alot of blackberry bushes for a few years . These are beneficial as are the tops because they keep deer from browsing the saplings that will sprout.

Good luck with the harvest and it wouldn't hurt to take the loggers a box doughnuts in the morning. This might get you some favors like some tops dragged close to the house .

well, I dont burn pine at all,. so thats not great. the logger has a buncher if that helps. These pines are mostly 30+ inchers and really tall.

Those 30"rs are going to give that feller buncher a good workout. Take some video and post it here ,not to many people have seen one in operation. You'll be amazed at what they can do.

right now, as per the NYS DEC Stumpage report, the average Mbf for white pine is $110, High of $145 and low of $80
