Here's a picture of my new M55 insert I installed last weekend. I wanted to wait to snap a few pictures until I finished my new mantel. That went in yesterday.

As for the stove, no complaints. I have it wired to a thermostat, which works great, but hasn't ran very much this week as it's been fairly mild.

WOW.... VERY NICE!!!! enjoy the Heat this winter.

NPCoot,

Very classy!

Should give years of warmth and enjoyment.

Congratulations,

Ranger

Great looking Mantel and Stove! Enjoy

VERY nice looking!

What is the cord coming out of the right side of the stove? Power cord?

Farmer.....yes, that's the power cord and I hate to look at it. I will be "modifying" the install here shortly. I'm going to route the power and thermostat wire through the former ash dump into the basement and hide that ugly thing!

Looks better than my house...

Sweet! I'm in the process of installing my M55 cast insert. I'll post pics when I'm done. Hopefully by Wed. Yours looks great!

Absolutely beautiful install!!!! Love the mantel and the rock work! Also love the vases since my other hobbies include throwing pottery (not at the wall). Also curious about your signature.... flying full scale or models (another hobby).

Anyway, well done!!!!

Beautiful job, I love the stone work!

Coot, the stove looks great! Love the mantel too! Congrats, and enjoy the heat!

very nice looking stove and install, should keep you nice and toasty

Coot, that's a beautiful job!!

What did you use for the stone work on the wall? I'm looking to do something similar.

Gret looking install.

I love the rock hearth and the Mantle.

Enjoy the new unit.

The whole set up looks amazing! a bit too glossy on the mantle finish for my taste but that's just me, what is that a slab of? I have a very similar set up with a natural edge Ash slab for mine.

Nice looking install!! I'm wanting one now. Let us know how the stove functions. How would you compare the heat output to say a Quad CB1200i?

Thanks,

AR

Thanks. It's a cultured stone veneer. AKA, "sticky stone"......it's basically cast concrete to look just like real stone. A lot of folks wouldn't know the difference. The hearth is flagstone.

I really like it so far, but haven't really had to use it too hard yet. I can't compare it to the 1200i, but I do have a castille. I like the simplicity of the Quad Castille, but you have to keep the burn pot clean or it will go out or not start. So far w/the M55 running on a thermostat set to auto/off, it functions like a champ. I have the Quad on a t-stat as well but after a day of steady burning you have to clean the burn pot or it will not start back up. I could see that M55 burning for days on end......even with shutting down and starting back up. When it gets real cold, I'll probably change the mode to auto hi/low mode to save on the ignitor.

Believe it or not, I think it's red oak. It was an old barn beam. I had to cut or square off the back side so it would fit snug against the wall, but that's the only way you'd be able to tell. Other than scraping all the old rotten wood off with some chisels/wire brush, I kinda wanted to leave the rest in it's original state (other than the tongue oil finish).

Thanks, Coot

What a sharp looking install - Congrats on your new stove!
Enjoy!

Gorgeous. I'd sell my TV and just look at that instead. Well done. I dig the bobbins being used as candle holders. We have some on our mantel as well. :)

That's purtier than a new set of snow tires. Honestly, great job. I would love to have something like that. Really like the floating mantel.
