Ive been stock piling wood (mostly from Irene) and waiting till I had enough to make renting a splitter worth it. Well I think I accomplished my goal. Heres what 10 hours of work with the right tools and good friend can do!
Mostly Oak, some poplar, locust, maple, dogwood, pecan, and this mystery wood (which I hope is some what decent but dont think it is). Pretty much if it could possibly live in eastren NC its in this pile! Such is the life of a scournger!
The mystery wood was crazy. Some times it would make nice pretty splits, other times it was just a fibrous mess and nasty! Any ID's out there? The guy whos yard I got the wood from didnt remeber today at church, I do remeber the tree was huge, 4+' in diameter at the base (which is still in his yard)
