http://www.readingstove.com/coal-heating-efficiency/ Look at the comparative costs per million btu's for the same cost of pellets and coal!!!

This one also shows how anyone near even reasonably priced coal should look long and hard at coal. It is even easy to start a coal stoker now with special starting sticks. They have come a long way since I had one.

Yes coal stoves are the best bang for the buck. But not for me. I am only heating 1000sq.ft. The coal stoves would roast me and my lab right out of the house.

Before I purchased a pellet stove I would use 2-4 cords a season, after a pellet stove 1 1/2-2 tons of pellet and use the wood burner as a backup for really cold nights. My hose is a 4" wall cape cod and heat the downstairs about 1500 sq. feet. Hope this helps and welcome:)

Hello Group. I went to my Harmon dealer store today and gave him the pics of my current set up of my stove and chimney set up. He said I should use my current set up, because if I had a power problem it would have a good draft to get rid of smoke. I like this method because I do not have to cut a new hole in my house and my old wood stove chimney is still in good shape. He sold me every thing I needed to make this change happen this weekend. The temps this weekend in Erie is going to be cold, so it is a perfect time to check out my new stove . WOO WHO/////////////

Congrats on the stove. But once you get it installed, your gonna have a lot more time on your hands (compared to wood) and with that time, you can enjoy a Beer watching the fire! ;)

Your gonna love that Harman. Cheers

Congratulations. It looks awesome. You gonna love that stove. Harman is a highly regarded name in the industry.

Keep it maintained and clean (not daily ;)) and it should treat you well for many years to come.

Sit back, grab a ice cold (adult) beverage, and enjoy :)
