I had another thread trying to figure out what to get and I ended up with a Honda powered 26ton Iron & Oak. I put it together mostly on Friday night (needed thread sealer for one of the fittings and had to get some). Finished it up this morning and made quick work of about a 1/2 face cord of oak I'd had sitting out behind the shop. WOW....Anyone thinking about getting a splitter, get one! I had a grin on my face the whole time. I even grabbed one SUPER crotchy piece. I mean the kind that has grain going 4 different ways and one side had a stub where an 8" diameter limb had been cut off years ago and the bark and grown around the stub. Just a horrible piece of wood. It split it. It had to work to do it but it did it. Prior to now that would have been left in the pile for burning in the fire ring outside. I'm going to like this a lot.
Oh, and before you ask, I was doing it by myself so I couldn't take pictures of it in action but tomorrow I'll split some big rounds I have left and post them.
