Hi all:
I just purchased a used Lange 6303B. The flue outlet is 5" and my clay flue thimble in my basement is 8" dia. I can't seem to find a 8"-5" reducer. I only find 8"-6". Do I need further reduce from the 6"-5" ? Any advice is appreciated.

That is a pretty big jump up in size. It would probably take 2 adapters. Is the wall thimble 8" ID? My guess is that the chimney that the thimble connects to is even larger. This is could present a problem because of the reduction of draft and cooling of the flue gases. It's a formula for creosote buildup, especially if the wood is not fully seasoned and let to smolder.

From the picture it looks like a round clay liner? Might be better if you dropped a 6" SS flex liner in.
