Hi guys newbie here.
So I cam into an early non catalytic Jøtul 8
I am planning to replace the burnt out burn plates/liners door and top gaskets.
But there is a small crack (see picture) in the back plate.

Before I spend the money on the parts...is this a deal breaker?

I am planning to re locate the flange to the top for a straight chimney install. So the block off plate will be directly next to the crack. And the heat flow should be less concentrated in that spot?

Your opinions are much appreciated gurus!

P.S. I'm looking for a cement crack and and monitor or walk away sort of answer

Yes, that is serious and probably why the stove was retired.
