Hello friends. Ordered my Osburn 1800 insert yesterday from Tate bld supply in Cincinnati,OH should be installed in the next couple of wks. I live in a 2400sq/ft spilt level home. I wanted to go with something alittle bigger but the installer said dew to the height of my existing fireplace the 1800 would be a tight fit. Does anyone else heat with the 1800 in a split level?and if so how does it do?

Looking at the specs it seems a bit undersized for your home, although the fact that you arent too far North it may do fine. Looks like it rarely ever gets below 10 degrees on the coldest day of the year. Am I correct? Other than that I dont know about the stove.

Winters are pretty mild here.
