Um Is this some kind of Joke that i missed, or a real question.

Anyway i will answer your question. Yes most of the times the bar will reach through the rounds, not always and sometimes its just 2-3"s of the tip that protrudes. I only have a 20" bar.

noodled lots of oak today....why cant i noodle straight?..crooked as he**....cuts to the right......this even happens with new bar and new chain...i cant figure it out......

Why do you noodle Oak I just split it???

Sometimes theres knots or a swirled grain that you cant split. beleive me there is some you cant split.

I've found that if I start with the bar tip 6-8" past the end of the log, sink it in @ about 30 degrees, & then pull back through the cut till the spikes are engaged I get a good straight start. Then do as thistle said, & keep my feet squared up, & a little up pressure on my left hand to compensate for saw weight I can get a pretty straight cut. It just takes a little practice. Double dawgs on the saw help also. A C
