I planted 10 each: white spruce, white pine, and pin oak this morning. Saw a muskrat in the pond! IMG00782-20120426-0846.jpeg IMG00780-20120426-0845.jpeg

By planting the trees I got rid of a 10' x 200' of lawn to mow. The 2nd pic is from the dock looking back at all of the trees we have planted over the years

Hehheh . . . I did something similar last Fall . . . in the areas where I was cutting I took some acorns that I had over-wintered and planted them . . . knowing that I will never reap the benefit, but someone in the future may appreciate and end up harvesting them for lumber or firewood.

Looks great. We plant trees every year that we get from the county. Pick up 50 Blue Spruce Friday.

I planted about 70 Norway spruce a couple weeks ago to form a wind-break. They were bare-root seedlings, but Norway's grow pretty quick...so it shouldn't be too long before they give some benefit.

Lukem - same here. Planted 100 Norway and 50 Chestnut Oaks - bare root from state. Wish we could get some rain soon. Pretty dry around here.
