Poplar right?

Looks like poplar to me
 
Not yellow tulip poplar.
 
+1 for poplar/ cottowood (Populus).
Thanks for the including picture of twig/ buds.
 
Poplar or aspen. The cottonwood around me has deeper furrows in the bark. All the same family I believe though. And all at the low btu end of the scale.
