Replacing Fan on Regency WarmHearth

The squirrel-cage fan has become very loud recently, and cleaning and lubricating hasn't helped.

I could replace it with something that looks very similar:

I'd like to get something that's quieter, even if it moves a little less air.


I'd say replace with manufacturered recommended unit. I have a different stove, but my fan looks similar to your first option. Like your experience, the original fan was loud and raffled from day one. However, the replacement is quiet. I installed it myself.
