I posted on here before about my problem. Originally, the auger motor would not start at start up. If I tapped on it or closed the hopper lid hard, the motor would start and continue working until shut down. Then the problem would repeat. I added a new capacitor thinking that would give the motor the 'kick' it needed to start. That didnt help. From suggestions in this forum, I checked the vacuum hose, its clear. Checked wire quick connects. Checked the motor operation with a lamp cord, seemed to be ok, but at one point the motor reversed direction. Set screw had loosened up, re-tightened. Reassembled everything but now I cannot get the motor to start at all. I am leaning towards getting a new motor, but hate to spend the money on one if that is not the problem.
On another note, I cannot for the life of me understand why this has a reversing motor. Does the auger ever call for a reversing direction, maybe to unjam? I didnt think this was the case, but if not, why did they put this motor in (and even wire it that way). Just curious.
