    Exactly right... the only really perishable thing there was the chicken, and I froze that into a brick when I heard the storm was coming. It took three days sitting in the freezer and was still mostly frozen when I pulled it out. Not something to do every day, but safe under the circumstances.

    Everything else was either canned (beans) or less perishable (veggies).
