Schrader Woodstove question

I recently acquired a large-ish free standing Schrader Woodstove. It has no baffle like every other woodstove I've ever seen, nor is there any evidence that it had one. Is this normal? Seems to me it must have been designed like that unless someone went to a lot of trouble to cut off/grind off any hangers or brackets that may have held one in place. But it seems equally odd that it was designed thusly. Any ideas?

Schraders were very early, very primitive welded steel stoves: in fact, their marketing people called them fireplaces. If memory serves, Later models did incorporate a baffle plate, but the originals were just a "box of fire."

Yep... we used to have a Schrader... a "box of fire" pretty much sums it up!
