Lets hope those draft caps don't start the bling fad among Fisher owners.
A little stove bright goes a long way!

Before anyone asks, the glass door shown in post 25 has cast iron door inserts as shown below in the model III configuration.

I'm not a Fisher owner or fan, but I know good craftsmanship when I see it, fantastic work Finest Fishers! If you were a little closer I'd get my old Fisher-like insert to you for some TLC and paint for sure.

Just wanted to say nice job, and that insert back on page 1 sure would look pretty all fixed up and in my fireplace. :) Inspiration to pretty up my pig a little as I do some of my retrofitting!

Thanks much HaTax. Its fun tinkering with the different stoves, models, manufactures. Lopi's are a killer heater I like to work with too, 80's and early 90's units when to me, they were built to perform. Refinishing is easy, got my own way that works for me and local folks and neighbors I refinish for. Great to see people enjoy these things for years to come.

Goldilocks mobile/modular home approved stove finished. Headed to Trinity County California. Draft knob on left controls an internal air inlet flap, approx. 1 7/8"W x 16"L by a long rod (bolt) that moves the tongue that operates the inlet vent. Air is drawn threw base from floor. Draft on right is fixed.

Goldilocks is delivered and installed in its new home;) . Was interesting to see brick hearth with their 'old' Goldilocks sitting there. Draft knobs were loose and a little rough, expanded metal mesh over air inlet long gone and bricks shot. The galvanized plate and 7 1/2" ring was cool to see, had a screen molded to it for rodent control, full of ash and debris....im sure stove didnt operate properly. Folks sent me away with their original Goldilocks to renew...wish that was every delivery:)

Gotta call from new owner of the super super rare Fisher XL I restored, just loves stove. Massive firebox loaded with white oak and eucalyptus heats his model 'T' and 'A' Ford restoration shop, shops 40x70 and 18' at peak. The XL has SOLID:rolleyes: brass doors, another first for me. Unlike my other XL's which obviously have large heavy doors.....these brass doors are an anchor. Nice thing about brass draft knobs, or these brass doors, they didnt make a noise or typical 'screech' when opened.
