Split some "Pretty" bad wood today

I split a bunch of red oak today with a few rounds of cherry and Poplar. The poplar splits were so Pretty. Lots of different colors. It's no good for firewood, but I cut a few for fire starters and the fire pit. Unfortunately my finger is now as purple as that wood!

I burn Tulip poplar ....it just doesn't coal up....hardly at all...
