I saw a mention of doing this somewhere on this forum. It really does work. I had 150 degrees on the stove with coals and threw a handful of pellets in. Before they burnt out I had well over 300 degree readings on the stove top. This would be an effective way to bring a cold stove up to temperature. A 40lb bag was a little over $4. Seems like cheap kindling to me.

Works well to kick start the load too. Anymore I grab the pixie dust in the bottom of the Super Cedar can to to the same thing.

I've also read that several times, but haven't had the chance to try it. I have to go to Lowes today, perhaps I'll pick a bag up. Thanks!
