    Finally got to run the 350 with the Stihl chain 23RCS72E thru some 24" OAK!
    What a treat.
    The chips were huge!!==c
    Love this chain, I wonder how long the sharpness will last?
    Thanks to all for the input .

    It will stay sharp for about a cord, maybe a little more. I can actually see where the corners wore down on my 26RSC74 chain that I use on my MS261. I think a sharp RSC chain, now known as RS, just cannot be beat for bucking logs up.

    How long does sharpness last? Until you need to sharpen it. That doesn't sound helpful, does it? However, it's a very accurate answer. Here are some things to look for:

    - it's taking longer in the cut
    - throwing chips + dust
    - throwing a lot of dust (very dull)
    - you notice you're leaning on the saw to get it to cut better/faster

    Once it stops self-feeding it's high time for the file.
