Headed towards final inspection on our new home. Stove installer also installed stovepipe and outside air kit. The ceiling trim does not fully cover the gaps where the pipe runs upward through drywall and into chimney chase. Furthermore, they taped the outside air intake to the bottom of my stove. They used flex duct and rattle-can painted it flat black. They also scratched the paint on the cieling section. Does this look like a typical professional installers workmanship? Is there any product to "seal" the gap near the ceiling between the ill-fitting trim ring and the pipe? As always - thanks in advance.

Professional looking? Absolutely not. Call & ask them to come back & make it so. They should clean the overspray off the floor tiles. They should make sure there are screws holding the OAK tubing to the stove. Also, tell them you want the gaps in the ceiling trim filled "PROFESSIONALLY" with black RTV. Demand that they touch up any scratches on the ceiling trim as well. Unsatisfied customers can ruin a small business, & if they don't make right, tell them you'll get the word out.
