OK all. I just purchased everything from local Lowes. All Supervent parts. I have a cathedral ceiling and need the ceiling box. However, I have a question with the install. My wife wants all black pipe being exposed to the inside. With Supervent the instructions show that I am to drop the stainless chimney into the box and have a small bit being exposed. She will not like this. Is there a trim piece or adapter that will hide the stainless?

Paint the protruding section black.

It’s not a big deal at all. You’ll likely need to touch up some pipe scratches anyway. If she’s worried about looks, buy some quality double wall pipe to go with it. The fit and finish is pretty poor with the box store stove pipe.

What is the best product to paint the SS? Does it need any prep work? I will need a couple elbows and they (Supervent) only sell them in SS, so I will most likely need to paint them as well.

We wipe it down with vinegar, then we paint it with high heat paint for SS made by Rutland. Why are you painting it? Usually only the first few inches show below the box.

Happy life is a happy wife!!! lol
She doesn’t like it! Plus need to touch up some areas on the stove and pipe.

Use Stove Bright on the stove and the stove pipe.

What about the paint for gas grills at Lowes, Depot, etc?
