I've seen numerous times the following (or close to it) phrase here:

"Note that code requires a return duct to be a minimum of 10 ft away from the stove or fireplace."

Just wondering what (if any) code there is for a supply register near a stove.
 
No code, afaik you are fine with a supply duct close to the stove. That said commonsense says the supply shouldn't be right under or behind the stove.
 
Since I have a similar question, I'll tag on to the thread:

If I have a return duct in a cathedral ceiling 13' above the top of my stove but very close to the stove pipe, am I still OK? Right now, that duct is not connected but it's on my list of things to do this summer.
 
It sounds ok, the 10ft rule is for the stove, not the pipe.
