First overnight with the new T5 last night.. relearned that more wood = more heat.. Loaded at 6:30 with 7 splits of dry ash and oak, let it get going then closed air in steps.. single wall pipe and had flue temps of 420 about 2 hours into burn, stove top reached 700 deg with IR thermometer and secondarys lasted for about 3 hours after chokeing back all the way. Was a little nervous i couldnt choke any more air off but eventually stove settles in at 600 and pipe 350 after flaming on wood was over. 9 hours later in still had enough coals to restart.. glass is super clean and i am learning to respect this things heating ability... it was pretty cold last night about 10 f.. 15 feet of straight up pipe.
