So, we went and visited some ex-coworkers that my wife knows for tea and cake. First time visiting their house so he took us on a tour of the property. When we got to a spot that had downed trees he complained that he had two trees down and how much work it was to cut it up and find a way to dispose of the wood. My ear popped up and I quickly said I'd help him cut, split and haul away the wood. He was quite happy. I also got access to his splitter.

So, to recap, I scored about a cord or so of wood and free access to a splitter. Best tea and cake I ever had! :)

Free wood seems to burn the best. I'm cleaning up a coworker's property from the ice storm. I'll end up pulling 1 or 2 cord out of there.

You go for the wood and I'll take the cake. How's that for a deal?

    Congratulations on a good find.
