Temperature probe placement

Where do you guys place your temperature probe? Floor,1 ft,2ft 3 ft up the wall?
My Harman P61A directions do not say anything about probe placement.
Last year we taped to the wall about 3' high.

on the floor, end tied in a knot to keep it off the floor, in an active airflow area.

My unit is a corner instal with a window sill...makes a great place to set the probe. But i am still in experimenting to find the best place...behind the stove for me does not work well.
