TempRite 6030 Thermostat - More like TempWrong

So over the past few weeks our thermostat has been acting up. Its a touchscreen and when I try to raise the temperature it does not respond to touch. I have since, replaced the batteries, reset it using the reset button, punched it, cursed at it and all but ripped it out the wall. What can it be? If i hit the program or the Program button they respond, and I am able to hit the up and down arrows but when it goes back to normal mode, the darn thing doesnt work. arrgggg. Any suggestions?
