In The Woods
After doing some plowing of the driveway, path to the wood and entrance to the woodlands I took a closer look at the cherry mess. Looks like I'll wait for some snow melt then I'll be able to clean up around there so it will be safer.

Just over a foot so it's not that bad, hoping we get some rain on Monday so we can get rid of some of it plus it will knock down some of the snow to the entrance where I go in to cut.

that is a pretty good mess! Good mess of firewood!!!

It is bigger than I remember. It is my neighbor's cherry tree that fell on our property but he doesn't want any so once I get things cleared up and out of there we'll plant some young cherry trees.

I don't know how things work up there, but around here you wouldn't have to plant the young cherry trees - there would already be 100 of them that the birds planted for you. If I want them to grow fast I thin some out, giving the best ones more light and space to grow.

Zap, on those type of trees I almost always wait until there is no snow sitting on the tree before I cut it. I just don't like cutting when you can't see the whole thing plus the mess.

btw, you might get what we had. I just finished plowing another 6" of wet snow this morning. The temperature is just above freezing now and another couple inches of snow forecast for tonight and possibly some freezing rain or sleet mixed in. It looks like we'll have a couple days of above freezing temperatures before more cold air moves in.

Dennis, sounds like you are recovering well from your medical experience. glad to hear your able to get around.

Thank you. Yes, it seems to get better day by day. I can walk without crutch or cane most of the time in the house or barn but use a cane or crutches on the snow and ice. Pain is getting less in the hip and leg but increasing in the neck. My neck pain was doing great as long as I was on the high pain killer but now I have to face that problem again.

Wood Duck; works the same here but we have some Cherry trees that are growing in the middle of a trail (five feet high) and I always wanted to move them so this is our chance.
