My experience with operating a GW indicates that you do not want to take ash out very often. And when you do, remove very little.

Also, avoid burning pine for any extended periods as this will diminish the coal bed.

For me personally, knowing how far to allow the coal bed to burn down is one of the trickiest idiosyncrasies of the GW.

What happens if you clean out to much ash?..........and..........is your pressure vessel all better?
