got a trailer load of this from the side of the road and was wondering if you guys could help me with the I.D. First year burning and while I can tell some by wood by leaves, its kind of late for that lol

uhg I was afraid of that. well I guess I know what I will be burning in the shoulder season next year. thanks claydogg
 
I can't ID this wood from these pictures. The tree was apparently a fairly large tree with gnarly, twisted bark. Trees like this often look different than a typical tree of the same species. Could be Willow, Could be Ash. I can't tell. Willow usually grows only allow a creek or wet area. Was this in a wet area?
 
Tree was in owners front yard didn't seem to be a wet area or any water around. Guess around 30 inch diameter but was butchered into more manageable peices. Split pretty good and the heart wood was fairly hard couple times the splitting axe just bounced lol. I got one more picture on my phone but can't figure out how to do it from there

Based on the word description it might be ash. Better pictures showing more of the bark from a small distance would help us.
 
ok those are the only ones I took while I was out splitting and I'm out of town for work. I will get some more this weekend when I get home I'm leaning towards ash myself
