Had this inserted in fireplace for about 24 years. I lack the terms to explain. There is a space between the inner part that burns the wood and the outer part next to the fireplace. The air flows through this area to heat and blow into the room. It seems to have filled with ashes or something that is restricting air flow. How do I clean it out?

Treemont fireplace insert. There should be no ash in the convection air passage, but there could be dust. Does the stove have a functioning blower on it? Can you post a picture of the stove?
