VC Warrantee - Bottom Line Me

Could someone please bottom line me on this one?

Does my 18 month old VC Encore 2550 (cat) have any of its 3-year warrantee in place after the sale of the company?

My dealer just turned me down for a replacement Throat Hood which has warped to the point where it will not hang in place any more...

Have any other of you received warrantee parts recently?

Have you contacted VC yet? It seems they would trump whatever individuals here say.

For what it is worth the CEO of Monessen, the new owners, sent a letter to the dealers in July of 2008 that said they would only honor warranty claims for VC stoves sold since January of 2008. You may find that they changed their minds. But I seriously doubt it.
