Once outside the house, is there any advantage to sealing joints, once outside. I now you definitly seal whats inside, but out side I'm not sure. It would make things easier to clean if not, but don't see any reason to have to.
 
I havent sealed mine...2 ft out and three ft up another foot out with cap.
Cleanout t at bottom..I do take the cap off and run a brush up and down.
