Vermont Castings 1945 Catalytic Access?

    Has anyone gone in and pulled this item out? Flashlight inspection of honeycombs appears to be sooted up pretty bad. I have the firebricks out but the backplate seems to be on there pretty good, just pry it off? Dont want to break it if it isnt broke yet!
