you have some gremlins installed. Try installing firefox for your search engine. You won't have to uninstall your other program. Firefox is more stable and has good security.

You have a Hijacker virus in your computer. I had this a while ago, it is a malware issue.

The best program I found for getting rid of malware is MalwareBytes.

The best way of getting rid of Malware is to leave Microsoft Stuff in the box.

That is one of the programs. I also had my computer geek work on it and I have Web Root AntiVirus. He said the virus hid itself inside the anti-virus program.

    try this.

in IE click tools, internet options then the advanced tab. on the bottom theres a reset button to restore your browser the way it was before it was hijacked.

doesnt work every time but it works enough to give it a try.

Must be a Massachusetts thing, as I get it all the time, and my PC Trend Micro hasn't picked it up.

Hasn't happened at work for me yet, but also have the same problem with my wifes laptop...only on this site...I never get the link on any other sites....I think its an issue with this site, but not knowing much about computers I don't want to jump to any conclusions.
Out of curiosity, for those that are getting this issue....what service are you using? (Comcast here)
