what caulk are you using?

i need to caulk my pipe to the thru the wall thimble, and then around the outside of the thimble box.
what caulk have you used?

Caulk on the outside only.

I use Rutland's Seal It Right it is a black sealant that is good to 800.

Remember this is a sealant and not a fastener.

There are others out there, Rutland makes many and anything over 475is acceptable, they come in several "colors" including "clear".

Sure it will if you like the color, RTV also comes in black and clear.
