White Pine and Honey Locust (?)

A local homeowner who gives me a few calls a year to remove his downed trees sent me a text the other day. He said he had some white pine and honey locust I could take off his hands. Last winter I got about a half cord of white pine off him, which I'm just about done burning, I also managed a huge Red Oak score from him in summer '13. So when I got his call, I made plans to pick up what I could. The pile was immense, so here is some of it.

The white pine is easy to spot, it's on the bottom.

My question is; Is the stuff on top honey locust?

I think it's black locust, either way it's definitely locust. Night a day difference between the pine and locust, nice score.

Looks like black locust to me too.
Around here, and I just don't understand it, it seems everyone has black and honey locust backwards. Like 99% of people get it wrong.

I wish it was beech. It's definitely pine. Weighs about 2 lbs a round.

I'm glad to hear it's BL, though. He's got anther one coming down in the next few weeks. I'll be claiming that one, too.

In my eyes Black Locust is the easiest wood to recognize by bark alone as there is really nothing else like it.
