When I went to start the stove up for the first time this year it filled the house with smoke. I checked the stove and it is clean so I replaced the gasket on the door thinking that would be it. I was wrong. The smoke is coming out above the door. I am also seeing smoke come out around the box in the hopper that houses the flame sensor eye. This is my only form of heat so any help would be appreciated

Sounds like there is something in the exhaust path or venting not allowing the stove to vent or the exhaust fan not working. You said the stove is clean but no mention of cleaning or checking the venting.

I pulled the side cover off to check the combustion blower. I hadn't thought to check there until I read this. Never thought I would find a large bird in the blower
